Group Dynamics and Learning About Myself
Throughout the early stages of my senior project, I’ve started to learn the importance of having a strong, dedicated partner or team around you when creating a business. Luckily for me, my partner, Quinn is a great person to work with on this project. Quinn and I have known each other for about 5 years, but we only started to become really close friends this year through our Entrepreneurial Studies class. In our Entre class, me and Quinn worked on two different projects together, including Estim8. There, I learned that Quinn is laid back and funny, but he is also driven and analytical. Personally, I see myself having a lot of similar qualities, so it makes a great working environment where me and Quinn can laugh and have fun while working hard to achieve our goals. During our Entre class, we knew we had a solid idea, but we couldn’t do everything we wanted to because of limited time and different requirements we had to meet that didn’t really align with what we wanted to do. However, during this project, it feels like me and Quinn are completely bought in on making Estim8 a reality, and it’s a cool thing to see. As of right now, Quinn has been handling a lot of the work that involves numbers, strategy, hirings, and things like that. I have done a lot of the work for our potential market along with the design of the app and its function. If I was doing this project a year ago, I would have never guessed that I would be working on the more creative and artistic part of a business. I’ve always just chalked myself up as someone who wasn’t artistic or creative, so I never let myself try anything like what I’m doing now. Most recently, I’ve done some mock-ups of what our scheduling function will look like in our app, and I created additional functions to our app that will entice customers. I know it’s pretty basic stuff, and we are early into our journey through this project, but I am proud of how I’ve already started to grow.
